Identifying a vehicle is the critical first step to finding a relevant part or piece of information. Locating the identification plate can be time-consuming. Tech features a locator as standard that shows the mechanic the precise location of the identification plate on the vehicle.
The VIN (vehicle identification number) is a unique serial number used by the automotive industry to identify individual vehicles. It is also the key to determining a vehicle’s legality and status. HaynesPro Tech features a VIN decoder which will identify the vehicle precisely. It will also present additional search options including engine code, TecDoc and European Type Approval codes. Depending on the country, a number plate search may also be available. Our graphics-based vehicle selection based on the three-step identification of make, model and type can be customised with vehicle colours and is also available as a separate data set. The HaynesPro vehicle definition leads you to a unique engine code.

MAINTENANCE
Clear, comprehensive and, above all, helpful.
HaynesPro maintenance guides are clear, comprehensive and, above all, helpful. Full maintenance schedules, which are printable for convenience, are provided for make – model – derivative, presented by intervals and broken down by vehicle area (engine, steering, etc.). Where necessary, there are links to detailed and annotated technical drawings of components, showing their location, as well as to subsections relating to additional aspects of the task. There are instructions on how to disconnect and reconnect batteries, program ignition keys and reset service indicators and tyre pressure monitoring systems. Additional work is also displayed, for example relating to a car with a high total mileage at the time of routine service. All tasks have a corresponding time and a total time is displayed at the top and bottom of the page. A unique feature is the availability of logical follow-up tasks which makes it easier to complete the work sheet. A single overview of the all-important service intervals gives a quick indication of tasks that might be required.

TECHNICAL DRAWINGS
Over 100,000 high-quality technical drawings.
A picture is worth a thousand words. HaynesPro has over 100,000 high-quality technical drawings in its database. Far from being generic images, these are bespoke illustrations with featured parts highlighted for ease of identification and the option to link directly to a shopping cart in a parts catalogue. Torque settings are indicated in the drawing to ensure that the correct torque is used for the specified bolt/nut. There are also notifications for bolts/nuts which must be renewed and of any requirement for using locking compound.

TRUCK AND TRAILER CONFIGURATOR
As trucks are often used in combination with trailers, TruckSET also includes information on trailers and axles. This information, which is added on the basis of market feedback, allows mechanics to service truck–trailer combinations. TruckSET allows the user to build a custom truck or trailer from the various components stored in the database. The truck or trailer can subsequently be saved for future reference alongside all relevant data. Trucks and trailers are usually constructed from such a wide range of different components that sometimes the manufacturers (OEMs) themselves are unable to advise workshops about the exact parts used on a truck or trailer. The mechanic often needs additional information, such as dimensions, colour, brand, and TruckSET’s ‘Parts Memo’ feature allows users to keep track of specific parts, together with their specifications and characteristics.
